MAFS UK viewers left in shock at Caspar's remarks about Emma

We may only be three episodes in to the brand new ninth series of Married At First Sight UK, but already the drama has arrived, despite only four weddings taking place so far.

After viewers witnessed Kieran and Kristina, Caspar and Emma, Eve and Charlie, and Nathan and Lacey all tie the knot, the four couples headed off on their honeymoons during the episode on Wednesday 18th September, and love wasn't in the air for everybody...

After having initial concerns about his instant attraction towards his new wife, Caspar deciced to let Emma know how he was feeling, admitting he hasn't felt an instant spark. He said: "I've been struggling, I don't know if you've felt it. But I haven't felt that spark I was hoping to feel."

After asking what she'd done to make him feel that way, Caspar admitted she has a lot of similarities to his sister, adding: "Watching you and her laugh together, there's an element and sort of mannerisms - I'm equating one with the other and it's not good."

The conversation between the pair soon turned into what 'type' Caspar usually goes for, with Caspar shockingly saying: "I've rarely gone for the curvier person," leaving Emma in complete shock.

Hitting back at his harsh remarks, 31-year-old Emma told her husband: "If you didn't think I was sexy in my f---ing wedding dress and my gorgeous bikini today, I don't know what hope there is.

"But what we're here to do is look beyond that and what you need to do is look beyond that because my personality, my confidence should help you be more confident and you should see qualities bigger than my clothes size.

"You need to work on your view of women."

After seeing the awkward scene play out, viewers of the show were quick to slam Caspar for his comments.

One wrote: 'She’s absolutely right 👏 but unfortunately he seems to be a shallow man', with another adding: 'When she says he needs to look beyond that. I really don’t think he can, totally shallow'.

Others were quick to praise Emma for her response, with one saying: 'I love her response 🔥 what a forest fire', and another adding: 'What a response. She is a BOSS! I LOVE her! ❤️❤️❤️'.

Despite Caspar's comments, a number of viewers did praise him for being honest about his feelings, despite not exactly going about it in the correct manner.

One commented: 'At least he’s trying to be honest I guess, we all have a type 🥺', with another saying: 'I actually feel sorry for him. He shouldn’t be made to feel bad for being honest'. (sic)

Later on in the episode, Caspar and Emma sat down for another chat, where Emma told him he could have phrased his wording a little better. She said: "I'm a size 14, I'm not a f---ing monster."

A frustrated Caspar then walked away from Emma, asking the camera crew to 'cut' filming.

After spending the night apart, the pair met up once again the next morning, where they both revealed they were open to carrying on the journey, admitting they both want things to work out.
