Another celebrity has been announced for this year's Strictly Come Dancing, in the form of former JLS singer Aston Merrygold.
29-year-old Aston is the eighth contestant to be confirmed for this year's show, with bosses announcing the news on Twitter this afternoon.
Sharing a short video of Aston, the tweet read, 'Popstar to dance sensation? JLS singer @AstonMerrygold is celebrity number eight for #Strictly 2017'.
Speaking about his upcoming appearance on the show, Aston said, "I’m so happy to be joining Strictly. It is such a brilliant show and I’ve followed it for years. I’m both nervous and excited to learn from the professionals about a whole new way of dancing!”
The singer first shot to fame alongside Marvin Humes, Oritsé Williams and JB Gill in boyband JLS when they appeared on The X Factor back in 2008.
Despite finishing in second place to Alexandra Burke, JLS went on to achieve massive success in the UK with hits such as 'Beat Again', 'Everybody In Love' and 'One Shot'.
After selling over 10 million records worldwide, the band went their separate ways in 2013 and announced they'd split up.
Aston later joined TV show Got To Dance as a judge on Sky 1 and recently released his debut solo single 'Get Stupid'.
Aston joins the already star-studded line-up of The Saturdays singer Mollie King, radio host Gemma Atkinson and This Morning presenter Ruth Langsford to name a few.
