Last week on Coronation Street, Oliver Battersby lost his battle with mitochondrial disease and this week will see grieving mum Leanne Battersby organise a celebration of his short life.

While Leanne launches into organise mode, Steve McDonald struggles to accept his son's death and retreats into himself.

While Tracy Barlow assures Leanne he'll be at the funeral, it's a close call when Steve is nowhere to be found.

Geoff turns up to court with a shiner on his face

Elsewhere, Abi Franklin is becoming more and more suspicious of Ray Crosby and when she recognises Roxy, the women Sally Metcalfe has sold her house to, the two women team up to find out exactly what he's up to.

Meanwhile, Yasmeen Nazir's trial finally begins and Geoff Metcalfe seems to have the upper hand when Tim Metcalfe rules himself out as a witness for the defence.

Faye begins her new job as trainee manager with Ray. When she lets slip Sally is having second thoughts about selling her house, Ray puts a cunning plan in motion.

After running into Faye after her first day at work, Abi confides in Craig that she doesn't trust Ray and Craig admits he found some incriminating paperwork at Ray's office.

Later on Abi is walking past number 4 and recognises Roxy, who Sally is waving off. Sally explains Roxy is who she's sold the house to.

The cogs start turning for Abi who tells Debbie that she thinks Ray may be trying to buy up the entire street. Debbie keeps her poker face.

Abi tells Sally and Tim about the incriminating paperwork and after a call to a friend at the council, Sally confirms that a planning application has been submitted to knock down half the street.

With nobody none the wiser to Debbie's involvement in Ray's plans, she's filled in and soon Debbie reports back to Ray that the residents are in on their scheme.

Realising that Ray plans to demolish the entire street to redevelop into flats, Abi rallies the neighbours to discuss what to do.

Abi, Sally, Roy, Dev and Brian decide to gatecrash Ray's press launch and Sally insists they mustn't let a criminal ruin their street.

Putting their heads together for a way to stop Ray they decide to apply to have the brewery listed as a building of historical interest. Will it be enough?

George the funeral director calls round at Nick and Leanne's flat and a grieving Leanne launches manically into planning the funeral. Nick heads to the café alone.

When Tracy learns that Leanne has already planned most of the arrangements she worries that Steve should be involved too.

Tracy explains to Steve that Leanne is planning a celebration of Oliver's life and she doesn't want it to be the sad affair a funeral normally is.

Steve shows little interest and heads back to bed. When Leanne calls round to go over plans Tracy says Steve is in bed but wouldn't miss his own son's funeral.

Meanwhile Simon is growing increasingly nervous about Oliver's funeral, particularly as he's been asked to speak and doesn't know what to say.

A sympathetic Shona advises Simon just to write something from his heart, and that anything he says about Oliver will be special.

The day of the service arrives Tracy worries there's no sign of Steve but he soon arrives, flustered, having changed his mind at the last minute.

As the service is about to start Leanne is surprised to see Sam loitering by Victoria gardens, stunned that Nick would prioritise him at Oliver's funeral.

The service begins and Leanne addresses the mourners, speaking about her treasured memories with Oliver.

Elsewhere, Geoff passes Sally and Tim in the street and intentionally goads his son, saying he always knew he wouldn't amount to anything.

The teasing works and soon Tim has lost his temper, and ends up punching Geoff in the face - playing exactly into Geoff's hands.

Having witnessed the whole thing Craig has no choice but to arrest Tim and Alya is worried he'll no longer count as a credible witness.

The first day of the trial rolls around and Geoff arrives in court with a shiner on his face, much to the dismay of Imran who is representing Yasmeen.

Geoff takes the witness box and is question by Imran, painting Yasmeen as a violent alcoholic who attacked him with the bottle for no reason.

Yasmeen is a bag of nerves and listens incredulously at the lies Geoff is spouting about her, terrified the jury will believe him.

Back on the street Tim takes a call from the police saying they've found Elaine, and Alya hopes she could stand in as a witness for her nan.

But when Tim is told that Elaine has been placed in a psychiatric unit, their hopes for her acting as a witness are crushed.

Tim pays a visit to Elaine in the hospital and apologises for ever believing Geoff's lies about her not actually being his mother.

Day two of court proceedings arrive and Alya takes to the witness box and has to endure a grilling from Geoff's lawyers

Geoff plays to the jury, painting her to be a vicious drunk but when he's cross examined by Imran is forced to admit Eliane might well be Tim's mother.

Finally it's Yasmeen's turn to take the stand. She talks the court through the night with the bottle and explains she's been the victim of domestic abuse.

But when the prosecution cross examines her and takes apart her version of events piece by piece, Yasmeen cracks under the pressure.

Later on Alya calls Yasmeen back in prison and tells her that now they've done all they can, it's up to jury to decide on a verdict.

But first, here's everything coming up on Corrie this week...

Following Peter Barlow's relapse last week, Johnny Connor is reminded of how he ruined the life of that security guard all those years ago, knowing that he too hit the bottle to cope.

When a chance encounter with the security guard's mum lands in his lap, Johnny spills all, finally ready to face the consequences.

But what will this mean for Jenny and Carla Connor?

Abi's onto Ray's plan

Elsewhere, Tim Metcalfe wants to make amends for not believing Yasmeen Nazir and offers to stand as a witness for the defence in the upcoming trial against Geoff Metcalfe.

But when Geoff learns of his son's plans he throws a spanner in the works that could jeopardise everything.

Meanwhile, Leanne Battersby is left feeling betrayed by her sister Toyah when Imran Habeeb refuses to represent her in her appeal against the hospital, and Adam Barlow and Sarah Platt want to give things another go.
