Coronation Street has let viewers in on what the age of recently widowed Daniel Osborne really is and people are just a tad incredulous.

Fans were left stunned that the new dad is just 24, especially considering his difficult life - Daniel was estranged from his dad Ken Barlow for most of his life, and only returned to Weatherfield following his mum’s abandonment at 15.
Taking to Twitter to share their surprise, one viewer wrote, 'Genuinely didn’t think Daniel was only 24 omg can’t believe I’m older than him.'
'Daniel's only 24?' asked one commenter, while another said, 'WHAT?! NO WAY. I thought he was like 30...'

It may come as even more of a surprise to learn that the actor who plays Daniel, Rob Mallard, is only 27 himself.
Sinead was just 23 when she passed away, after her cancer returned aggressively in October 2018. Six months pregnant at the time, Sinead was induced early and successfully gave birth to Bertie who was three months premature.

After she was released from hospital, Sinead was able to enjoy the first few months of Bertie’s life, but in September, days before marrying Daniel in a second ceremony as their first was not legally binding, Sinead was told she was terminally ill and given just months to live.
The storyline has been one of the most emotional on Corrie ever, leaving fans devastated for the young family as they watched Sinead’s demise.
