Amir Khan was given a HUGE sum to appear on I'm A Celebrity
HOW MUCH?!
He didn't even know what creepy crawlies were at the beginning of the week, but after two trials on I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here, and another one to come this evening, it looks like Amir Khan is adapting to life in the jungle.
Despite claiming he's never watched the popular ITV show before, the professional boxer reportedly received a MASSIVE sum of money to appear on this year's series.
Loose Women star Katie Price held the record for being the highest paid celebrity when she was given £400,000 for her second stint in 2009, but according to a national newspaper, Amir has been given even more!
A TV source said, "Amir was a great get, but he came at a hefty cost. He’s going to be the best paid celeb they’ve ever had.
"There have been rumours of huge sums being paid to the celebrities but they’re often highly exaggerated. Katie Price got somewhere close, but Amir’s is slightly higher again."
Although the actual sum Amir received hasn't been confirmed, we imagine he can pay for a lot more photos with snakes.
The sportsman was called a 'fake' by some fans earlier in the week when he freaked out during a trial after touching a snake, saying the famous "I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here" words.
Much to Toff's disappointment, Amir failed the task and he told Ant and Dec he has a major phobia of snakes.
After his reaction, fans were quick to unearth a photo from five years ago, which shows the boxer with a much bigger snake than the one he encountered in the trial. While Amir has been quite vocal about his phobia of snakes since the show began on Sunday, the photo from a nightclub seems to show something very different.
Unfortunately for Amir, he's been voted again to do another Bushtucker Trial on tonight's show. The 30-year-old will represent Croc Creek as he goes up against The Saturdays singer Vanessa White from Snake Rock.
In a twist by producers, the celebrities in Snake Rock will receive their care packages from home if the camp mates in Croc Creek manage to beat them in a series of trials.
I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here airs on ITV at 9pm every night.
