Ahh British summer, the only thing reliable about the weather is that it will be unreliable. We Brits just do not know how to handle the sun (or lack of), and there's the essentials you need for a summer here in the UK that you don't need most places.

Here are some sayings you're guaranteed to hear over the British summer...
"It's too hot!"
We spend all year waiting for the sun to come out in the UK and then when it arrives we literally can't take the heat!
"Where's the sun?"
But when that sunshine starts to go behind a cloud, it feels like the Antarctic and we're left pining for the heat again!
"Get the barbecue on!"
We can't have as many people with us right now as we might want to, but that doesn't mean we don't still shout to get the barbecue fired up as soon as there's a hint of good weather.
"Let's make summer drinks!"
A fruity drink (alcoholic or non-alcoholic) is a great way to feel refreshed in summer.
"I need air con!"
The fan in our bedroom at night just isn't cutting it and we wish we had some fancy system installed in our house to help us keep cool!
"I'm burnt!"
When you end up looking like a drumstick lolly, you know you've overdone it. Sun safety first everyone!
"Quick! Get the umbrella!"
Yep, you can never go very long without your UK summer essentials of the umbrella and waterproof clothing!
"Can I have an Ice Cream?"
Okay, so in some places the Ice Cream van isn't going around, but that doesn't mean we haven't stocked up the freezer ready for those summer days, which means it's only a matter of time before we're asking for one!
"Get the paddling pool filled up!"
Whether it's for the kids, to chill yourself down or even for your furry friend, a paddling pool is an much-loved part of the UK summer experience!
