Harry Styles: 'One Direction Aren't In The Same League As The Beatles'
They'd be "total fools" to compare themselves to The Fab Four
Harry Styles says that One Direction would be “total fools” to compare themselves to The Beatles musically.
20-year-old Harry explained the he and the 1D boys recently watched footage of The Beatles first arriving in America exactly 50 years ago and they could relate to the manic reception The Fab Four received.
However, although Harry reckons their success is comparable, when it comes to music the 1D singer believes The Fab Four are untouchable.
"We all sat and watched the film of (The Beatles) arriving in America, and to be honest, that really was like us," told Top Of The Pops magazine. "Stepping off the plane, the girls, the madness.
"It was exactly the same as when we got there, just 50 years earlier. But none of us think we're in the same league as them music-wise.
"We'd be total fools if we did. Fame-wise, it's probably even bigger, but we don't stand anywhere near them in terms of music.”
One Direction’s huge Where We Are Tour comes to the UK & Ireland this May and June for shows in Dublin, Sunderland, Manchester, Edinburgh and London.
Their new single ‘Midnight Memories’ is released on Sunday 7th March. Check out the video right here:
