Chitty Chitty Bang Bang remake reported to be in the works
It's an absolute classic!
Last updated 5 hours ago
An iconic family film which was released the week before Christmas in 1968 is reported to be getting a remake. Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, which starred acting legend Dick Van Dyke, Benny Hill and Barbara Windsor, has been loved by generations for more than half a century.
It's based on the earlier book of the same name, and follows a down-on-his-luck inventor who manages to build a flying car for family adventuring. And now, having spent a few years on stages across the world, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang is reported to be in the early stages of development by Amazon MGM Studios and Eon Productions.
Deadline revealed earlier in December that executives from Amazon and EON are meeting with potential writers and directors in preparation for the reimagined classic. They say the makers of the Bond movies are developing the film 'with a theatrical release in mind'.
When is the remake of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang expected to be released?
There's no word yet on when we might see a new version of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang on the big screen, but we'll bring you more details as they're released.
