WATCH: Ed Sheeran made history last week with his two comeback singles
He released two singles last Friday.
Last Friday morning Ed Sheeran released two eagerly awaited comeback singles - the first release from him since 2015.
Incredibly since their release the talented singer/songwriter has made history hitting spots number one and two almost immediately, with both singles reaching streaming records.
Spotify's 'Day 1' UK and Global streaming records were broken with over 13 million combined streams in 24 hours overtaking the previously title holders One Direction.
Amazingly his songs have also hit the top spot on iTunes in 118 countries across the world.
Ed released his songs early on Friday the 6th January having teased them online. The songs were 'Castle On The Hill', a song about Framlington, Suffolk where he grew up and 'Shape Of You'.
Last week Ed popped into speak to Natalie from the Northsound 1 Ents Team and told us more about THAT scar that appeared in November last year.
The incident happened at a Windsor Royal Lodge party held by Princess Beatrice where she grabbed a ceremonial sword to conduct a mock knighthood ceremony for James Blunt. Misjudging the weight of the sword she unfortunately caught Ed's cheek.
He explained how he didn't think there was anything wrong until he looked down and saw his whole shirt covered in blood! Everyone around him said he had to get stitches, but he was like "why"?
