Shayne Ward first became a household name back in 2005 when he won the second series of The X Factor. Since then, he's turned his hand to acting, and most recently starred in Coronation Street as Aidan Connor.

His time on Corrie ended in a devastating storyline, with character Aidan choosing to end his own life after suffering from depression in a plot which aimed to highlight male suicide, and Shayne's performance was hugely applauded by viewers and charities.

However, he's set to star in something completely different - a horror film - and has undergone a pretty major transformation ahead of it.

Well-known for his close-shaved 'do and beard, Shayne has now let his luscious locks grow in full force - and it is a seriously strong look.

Shayne will be taking on the role of archaeologist Dr. Giles Glover in British horror film Skendleby, which is all about a group of scientists who accidentally awaken an ancient curse at Skendleby Hall in Lincolnshire.

Shayne says of his new role, "I am absolutely delighted to be joining a great cast and crew on an exciting new British film. The script is brilliant and I can’t wait to get going. I loved making my last film and the part I have landed has huge potential.

"I hope the film will be a big hit and I know audiences love the horror genre and will be keen to support an all-British project."

Not much else is known about the film yet - watch this space!
