Corrie's Jack P Shepherd shares engagement news with loved-up photo
Congratulations!
Coronation Street favourite Jack P Shepherd has announced he's engaged to his long-term girlfriend Hanni Treweek, popping the question at the beginning of June, whilst the pair were on a safari holiday in Africa.
Taking to social media to share their lovely news, Hanni posted two snaps of the pair together, with her stunning engagement ring in full view. Alongside the two photos, she wrote: '05.06.24 I said YES to forever!!! 💍😍🇹🇿🐘⛺️☀️'. (sic)
Jack's friends and fans were quick to comment on the cute news.
Fool Me Once actress Michelle Keegan wrote: 'Awww congratulations to you both 🤍✨ xx', with Alan Halsall adding: '😍Congratulations to the pair of you xx'. Strictly Come Dancing winner Ellie Leach added: 'ahhhh congratulations ❤️', with Lucy Fallon commenting: 'yaaaaayyyyy 💒 💕💕'.
Paula Lane, who played the role of Kylie Platt in Corrie alongside Jack, wrote: 'So strange I had such a feeling about this when I saw your adventure! Huge congratulations both of you xxx'. (sic)
Celebrity Big Brother star Colson Smith then commented: 'Get in 🥂🎉', with Catherine Tyldesley writing: 'Congratulations my darlings!!! Wonderful xxx'. (sic)
Jack's on-screen wife Julia Goulding also commented: 'Such beautiful news! Congratulations to you both, absolutely perfect couple ❤️❤️ xxx'. (sic)
Jack, who has played the role of David Platt on Corrie since 2000, previously opened up about his plans to get married to Hanni in the future.
Speaking to OK! Magazine, he said: "We will get married but we're not engaged yet. We want to do all those big milestones like marry, have kids, and buy a house, we're just not quite there yet. I didn't want to scare Hanni off but we did have the discussion about marriage and children early on as you need to know you want the same things."
