18-year-old Billie Eilish just made history at the GRAMMY Awards

Billie won five awards, with her brother also taking home producer of the year for his work on the album

Given her astounding year, it’s hardly surprising Billie Eilish was the big winner at this year’s GRAMMYs. But the 18-year-old achieved a truly remarkable feat, becoming the youngest person to win album of the year for her debut When We All Fall Asleep Where Do We Go? - a record which was previously held by Taylor Swift.

And as if that wasn’t impressive enough, she triumphed in all of the Grammys 'big four' marquee categories - also winning song of the year, record of the year and best new artist alongside best album. (Earlier in the night, she also earned best pop solo performance for Bad Guy bringing her grand total to five.)

It was an overwhelming night for the uber-cool popstar, and while accepting the trophy for album of the year, she said that Ariana Grande should have taken home the award. (From the crowd, Ariana blew back kisses.) In typical Billie style, she attended the ceremony in head-to-toe baggy Gucci, with her trademark green roots on show.

The talent evidently runs in the family, as her brother, Finneas O’Connell, also won best producer for his work on the album. During his speech - after recalling how the pair worked on the album at home - he joked, ‘It's a huge honour to be given a Grammy for making home-made cookies.’

And when they received the nod for song of the year, for Bad Guy, the pair dedicated their awards to future musicians. 'This is to all of the kids who are making music in their bedrooms today,' Finneas said. 'You're going to get one of these.'
