Brothers sleeping on the floor
Sam* and Tom* are 12 and 10 years old and were sleeping on a mattress on the floor of their bedroom.
"Bunk beds would result in the boys being well rested and it will greatly improve their general wellbeing whilst giving them a space in the house to call their own" Linda Boyd, Family Resource Worker
The brothers live with their mum and their other 2 siblings in a small council house. Their mum is a single parent and on a low income so she could not afford new beds for the boys.
They were sleeping on a mattress in a small bedroom that was not large enough for 2 single beds. Their support worker at Deeside Family Resource Centre applied to Cash for Kids for bunk beds for the boys.
Cash for Kids' January 2017 grant round was able to fund the bunk beds for the brothers and make a real difference to their lives.
It is only with the support of our fundraisers that we can help children like Sam and Tom.
