Samson Believes He Can Claim The Gloves At Motherwell
Goalkeeper Craig Samson has backed himself to win the battle for the gloves at Motherwell.
Goalkeeper Craig Samson has backed himself to win the battle for the gloves at Motherwell.
The 31-year-old signed a deal until the end of the season earlier this week and he insists he would not have considered joining the Steelmen if he did not believe he could earn the jersey ahead of both Connor Ripley and Dan Twardzik.
Samson was released by Scottish Premiership rivals Kilmarnock last month but he is confident he still has plenty more to offer in the top-flight.
He added: "I knew it was probably best for all parties for me to leave Kilmarnock.
"I had a couple of different options and a couple of people I was speaking to at the time.
"But, after speaking to the manager and goalkeeping coach here, Motherwell was the one I wanted.
"Of course I believe I can do well for Motherwell.
"I've played a lot of games in the Premiership in Scotland and I don't want that to stop now."
