Yes to Marischal Square
Aberdeen City Councillors have voted 22 to 21 in favour of pushing ahead with Marischal Square.
Marischal Square is going ahead. Aberdeen councillors have narrowly voted in favour of pressing ahead with the controversial development. There were 22 votes for and 21 against. Protestors shouted from the public gallery as the decision was announced. The SNP opposition had been pushing for a rethink on the design - even though it's already got planning permission. Some of the debate had been held behind closed doors, so confidential legal advice could be discussed. But it emerged Finance Convenor Willie Young had already emailed it to a campaigner by mistake. He's referred himself to the Standards Commission.
