Two Seriously Injured After Head-On Crash On A90

Two people have been seriously injured after a head-on crash on the A90.

The crash happened on the Ellon to Aberdeen road at the Murcar roundabout, Aberdeen, at about 9.30am on Saturday.

Following the collision, the northbound carriageway was closed for five hours, with lane restrictions also in place on the southbound carriageway.

Sergeant Steve Manson, of the Trunk Road Policing Unit, said: 'A southbound grey Vauxhall Astra motor car and a northbound silver BMW 320 motor car collided head-on, resulting in the drivers, and only occupants, of both vehicles having to be cut free by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service. Both were taken to hospital with serious injuries.

He added: 'I would ask anyone who was in the area on Saturday morning and saw either of the two vehicles to contact Police Scotland on 101.'
