Police have named two men killed after their car crashed into a tree in Aberdeenshire.

Paul Grice, 24, was driving on the A93 Banchory to Aboyne road on Thursday

night when the red Volkswagen Golf left the road.

He died at the scene of the crash, along with his front seat passenger Grahame Ellis, 32.

Both men were from Aboyne.

Police have appealed for witnesses to the crash, which occurred near the

entrance to Aboyne Loch Caravan Park just before 10pm.

Inspector Jon Barron said: Both families have been left devastated by the sudden and tragic loss of their loved ones.

"We have already spoken to a number of witnesses, however I would urge anyone who may have seen the vehicle involved or who may have information that would assist our inquiries into the horrific circumstances to come forward.''
