Police Scotland is investigating a robbery that occurred in the Bedford area of Aberdeen.

The incident occurred about 6.30pm on Friday 13 January 2017, at Aldie's Self-Service, 62-64 Bedford Road, Aberdeen.

A male entered the store and presented a weapon at a member of staff before making off with a three figure sum of money and cigarettes. He was last seen on the lane to the rear of Sunnyside Road, Aberdeen.

Detective Sergeant Andy Machray said "Nobody was injured as a result of the incident, but the member of staff involved was left shaken. I would ask anybody who was in the area at the time and saw anything suspicious to get in touch with us. It is also possible that anybody in Bedford Road or the surrounding area may have seen the man involved either before or after he was at the shop".

The assailant is described as male, white, in his early 20s and wearing casual clothing and a blue coloured top.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, if you wish to remain anonymous.
