Police make arrest after city centre park is sealed off in Aberdeen

A 26-year-old man has been charged in connection with an alleged sex attack at a city centre park.

A 26-year-old man has been charged in connection with an alleged sex attack at a city centre park.

A woman claimed she was assaulted in Union Terrace Gardens, Aberdeen, in the early hours of Sunday.

Police sealed off the park as they carried out investigations into the incident.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said on Monday: Police Scotland can confirm that they were investigating a sexual assault that occurred within Union Terrace Gardens during the early hours of Sunday March 27.

As a result a 26-year-old man has been charged and is being reported to the procurator fiscal.''
