Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious assault in Stonehaven.

Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious assault in Stonehaven.

The attack took place outside a fast food takeaway in the Market Square area at around 3am .

As a result, three men were left injured. Two, aged 30 and 32, were left with serious injuries.

Officers are particularly keen to speak with three men, who were seen to leave the area in a taxi shortly after the assault. One is described as being white, 5'9" stocky build, wearing dark jeans and a blue jacket.

PC Jo Castle, who is investigating the incident, said: "This is an unusual incident for Stonehaven and I am looking for anyone who may have been in the area at the time and has any information to come forward."
