Police Hunt Two Men After Attack On Elderly Cyclist

Police in Aberdeen are attempting to trace two men who attacked an eldery man as he cycled through the city.

The 65-year-old man was travelling along Great Nothern Road at around 10pm last Tuesday when he was physically assaulted by two men.

PC Lorcan Thame of Aberdeen Division's Alcohol and Violence Reduction Unit said: "This was an unprovoked and cowardly assault on a man who was cycling on Great Northern Road close to its junction with Barron Street, Aberdeen. He was approached by two men and struck on the head which caused him to fall off his bike. It was an upsetting incident for the man and I would appeal for anyone with information or who saw anything to contact us."

The two men involved are both described as being aged between 18 and 35 and both were approximately 5ft 10ins tall.

The first man was described as being of average build, with short blonde hair and was wearing a white or light grey hooded top, light denim jeans and light coloured trainers.

The second male was described as being of slim build. PC Thame added: "If anyone has any information regarding this incident please call us on 101, or the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 if you wish to remain anonymous."
