Police in Aberdeen To Re-open Unsolved 1978 Murder Case

Published 27th Feb 2015

Police in Aberdeen are to re-open the case of an unsolved 1978 murder.

32 year old Brenda Page's body was discovered in her flat on Allan Street in the city, on the 14th of July 1978, after she failed to turn up to her job as a geneticist at Aberdeen University.

She was discovered with multiple blows to her body.

In the weeks that followed her death, police discovered that she had been secretly working as an escort at night.

She had also divorced her husband, Dr Christopher Harrisson, earlier that year. Police questioned him at the time, but released him without charge.

Two of her escort clients were also questioned, but they were also released with no charge.

Police in Aberdeen have said they will go back to square one, and treat it as a new case.

Our reporter Hope Webb sat down with Detective Superintendent Malcolm Stuart to discuss the murder of 32 year old Dr Brenda Page, and how they plan to catch her killer, nearly 40 years on.
