Petrofac to cut up to 65 more North Sea jobs

Oil firm Petrofac have announced that they will be cutting up to 65 positions from their CNR assets in the North Sea.

Oil firm Petrofac have announced that they will be cutting up to 65 positions from their CNR assets in the North Sea.

The have entered a consultation with staff - to inform them.

This comes after the company cut 160 seperate jobs last week.

The price of oil also continues to sit below $30 a barrel.

A statement from the firm reads: “Petrofac is committed to supporting its customer in securing the long term sustainability of its assets in the North Sea. In line with our customer’s planned activity levels and a need for further efficiencies, Petrofac has commenced a consultation process with offshore personnel proposing a reduction in staffing levels.

“We are engaging with those affected and will make every effort to minimise the impact.”
