Offshore Catering Staff Vote Against Strikes In RMT Ballot

Published 27th Oct 2015

Offshore catering staff and members of RMT union have narrowly voted against taking strike action.

But they have voted in favour of industrial action short of a strike.

A ballot was held after companies under COTA decided to cut a two year pay deal.

The companies include Sodexo, Entier, Trinity, Compass, and Aramark.

Last week, members of Unite the Union voted yes to strike.

Today, COTA announced that they have agreed to meet with Unite and RMT around the negotiating table, on November 2nd - with hopes to stop the first strike action in the North Sea since the 70's.
