Man On Trial Accused Of Killing Man With One Punch In Aberdeen
A man went on trial today (TUES) accused of killing another man outside a former city church.
Francis Thomson is accused of assaulting Scott Ashton by punching him on the head which caused him to fall to the ground on Shiprow in Aberdeen.
Mr Ashton is claimed to have been so severely injured that he died in hospital three days later on May 21 last year.
Thomson, also known as Francis McPhee, went on trial accused of culpable homicide at the High Court in Aberdeen yesterday.
He denied the charge and lodged a special defence of self defence.
The trial continues this afternoon.
