LISTEN: Thousands sign petition calling for RGU to revoke Donald Trumps degree
A petition calling for RGU to revoke a degree given to Donald Trump in 2010, has gained over 3,500 signatures.
Thousands of people have signed a petition calling for Robert Gordon University to revoke an honoury doctorate given to Donald Trump - after controversial comments he made on muslims.
On Monday, the billionaire, who also owns a luxury golf resort in Aberdeenshire, called for a "complete shutdown of muslims entering the United States" - following a fatal shooting in California where 14 were killed.
He has faced much criticism since announcing his candidacy for US President.
The honoury doctorate was awarded to Mr Trump in 2010 - and in protest, at the time, the former principal of RGU, Dr David Kennedy, handed his degree back.
More than 3,500 people have signed the petition.
RGU's Principal, Ferdinand Von Prondzynski, says the University is "considering the position" of the degree.
Our reporter Hope Webb sat down with Suzanne Kelly, the organiser of the petition.
