James Maddison eager to make an impact in Scotland

James Maddison is confident he can make an impact in Scotland as he prepares to make his Aberdeen debut against Inverness.

The 19-year-old joined the Dons on loan after moving to Norwich in the summer following a ÂŁ2.5million transfer from Coventry earlier in the year.

The creative midfielder was not content to quietly integrate in the reserves, and jumped at the chance to try something new in the Ladbrokes Premiership.

I had a full pre-season at Norwich, I had a really good pre-season to be honest, I felt I was playing really well but I am only a young lad, still only 19, so it was always going to be hard to get ahead of the likes of Steven Naismith and Wes Hoolahan,'' he told RedTV.

I spoke to Alex Neil and said I wanted to go and play games so I was delighted to hear of the interest from Aberdeen and was buzzing to get up here. I have come here to play some games and show everyone what I can do.

I am a confident young boy but you have to be, coming up here and living on my own. You have to trust your own ability. I am confident I can adapt to the football up here. I believe in myself but now I need to get my head down, work hard and put in the performances.''
