Hillwalker dies after Lochaber Mountain plunge

A hillwalker who's thought to be from the Aberdeen area has died after he plunged more than 600ft off a Lochaber mountain.

The 51-year-old, who is thought to have been from the Aberdeen area, was on Carn Mor Dearg Arete, a peak adjoining Ben Nevis when the incident happened.

Lochaber Mountain Rescue team were alerted by a another walker who was part of a three-man party.

Police are trying to contact the man’s family.
