SEPA has issued a flood alert for Aberdeen city and Aberdeenshire.

A flood alert has been issued for Aberdeen city and Aberdeenshire.

SEPA says rivers in Southern Aberdeenshire are in particular danger, due to heavy rainfall and melting snow after rising temperatures.

Some localised river flooding is expected in low lying land and roads, with surface water flooding possible causing travel disruption.

The alert comes two weeks after devastating flooding struck areas such as Port Elphinstone, Inverurie, Ballater, Aboyne and Kintore - forcing hundreds out of their homes.

SEPA has said however that this time levels are expected to be much lower than those experienced earlier this year.
