Death Crash Driver Faces Jail
A woman who killed a pensioner in a car crash in Montrose, faces jail today.
Anna McCallum admitted ploughing into John Gordon Sangster on Baltic Street in Montrose, as she got distracted by music playing in her car.
Mr Sangster was flipped into the air by the car, and landed behind the car.
A court heard how a police examination of the car at the scene found that the driver had not braked heavily before she hit the pensioner.
Investigators decided she must have became momentarily distracted my music while driving, and did not have enough time to react to Mr Sangster stepping onto the road.
The 23 year old pleaded guilty on indictment to a charge causing death by careless driving.
The Sheriff deferred the sentence until next month, but banned her from driving until further notice.
