Chief chocolate taster post 'the sweetest job' bar none
A chocolate company has launched a search to fill "the sweetest job in the world'' - chief taster at its new factory.
Mackie's is advertising the year-long position, which will be paid in monthly supplies of chocolate, and say the only qualifications needed are tastebuds.
The company is opening a new ÂŁ600,000 factory in Aberdeenshire next year and want to mark the occasion by creating a new flavour combination, dreamt up by the chief chocolate taster.
Other roles will include taking part in tasting panels, ensuring quality control and trying other chocolate brands.
The successful applicant will have "a steady supply of chocolate to taste, test, lick and sook on the couch at home'', Mackie's said.
Kirstin McNutt, head of development, said: "This isn't a Chinese Wispa, we really are recruiting a chief chocolate taster for twelve months.
"Mackie's is committed to everyday indulgence, offering delicious treats including ice-cream, thick-cut crisps and, of course, chocolate.
"At the moment, our chocolate comes in four flavours - milk, honeycomb, dark and Scottish mint.
"With our brand new factory being capable of making more than five million bars annually, we want to share the sweet success with creative candidates who have a taste for bringing us new interesting flavours.''
The position is being advertised through S1jobs and a light-hearted TV campaign until December 3.
Mackie's said people of all ages can apply and have to describe their dream chocolate bar flavour and why they are the best candidate for the job.
The top four creative ideas will be chosen and put to the test by Mackie's before two finalists are short-listed and put head to head via public vote on social media.
