BrewDog Heading To The US

North East firm Brewdog is heading to the United States.

The popular craft beer company, which is based in Ellon in Aberdeenshire, plans to build a new state of the art brewery in Colombus, Ohio, as well as a visitor centre and restaurant.

Over 100 people will be employed at the new sister brewery, and Scottish ambassadors will also be sent out for extended periods.

It comes just days after they announced they will be opening their second bar in Aberdeen, at the site of the former Athenaeum bar on Union Street.

BrewDog said: "Brewing in the US helps us get BrewDog beer to our customers there without have to ship it across the Atlantic – which is not just good news for beer miles, but also for beer styles.

Columbus has got a fantastic beer scene already, so it’s going to be fun to brew our beer in this vibrant Midwestern metro. We considered so many potential locations in the US but eventually it was how much we loved the people of Columbus and how welcome they made us feel on our visits that put Columbus firmly at the top of our list.".
