Attempted robbery at post office

Two suspects have fled on a red motorbike after trying to rob an Aberdeen post office

Police Scotland is appealing for witnesses following an attempted robbery in Summerhill, Aberdeen.

It happened at around 2.10pm at the Post Office on Summerhill Drive on Thursday.

During the incident a member of staff was threatened, but was uninjured. No items were stolen. Detective Inspector Stewart Drummond said : "We are appealing for information from anyone who was in the Summerhill area yesterday afternoon who saw anything suspicious.

"Enquiries are at an early stage, however we believe there were two suspects and they left the scene on a red motorbike.

"If anyone saw two individuals on a red motorbike in the Summerhill area prior to the incident, or elsewhere in the city after the incident, I would ask them to contact us with any information they may have."
