Aberdeen House Prices Buck Oil Slump

There's been a big rise in the average house price in Aberdeen in the past year - despite the slump in the oil and gas industry.

Official figures from the Registers of Scotland show they're up by 8.6% in April to June this year, compared to the same period last year.

There was also a rise in Aberdeenshire.

It means the average home in the Granite City has increased in value by more than £18,000 since last summer.

Across Scotland as a whole prices rose by 3.5%
