What do Ken Bruce; Harriet Scott; Dave Berry; Bush & Richie; Tatum McGreal; Sam Darlton; and Evanna Maxted all have in common? Two things: a knack for radio and plenty of love for Christmas.

We asked our presenters all about their festive traditions, memories and controversial opinions. Listen to all these presenters and more with Rayo, either through the free app, online or your smart speaker.

What’s your family Christmas tradition?

Ken: The great Christmas tradition is, of course, to leave a little something out for Santa Claus. I’ve spent a long time explaining to the youngsters in our house that Santa doesn't like milk. He would prefer a single malt whisky. I happen to know this because Santa has told me.

Tatum: I actually don’t have Christmas dinner on Christmas Day. It’s horrendous; every year, my parents make us have curry and it’s not even a takeaway.

Bush: Our strangest Christmas tradition is normally having three stiff brandies before midnight mass, just to take the edge off.

What is your alternative Christmas anthem?

Sam: My alternative Christmas anthem is from The Muppet Christmas Carol. I feel like it’s fine to watch The Muppets, but I actually listen to the soundtrack alone a lot.

Harriet: You can’t beat Wham!’s 'Last Christmas'. You just can’t.

Evanna: My family loves The Greatest Showman. We always stick the soundtrack on throughout Christmas Day because we all love singing along to the songs.

Jordan: 'Jai Ho' by The Pussycat Dolls.

Tatum: I know it’s Christmas when I hear the Harry Potter theme tune.

Bush: The soundtrack to Twin Peaks. We play it every year.

Dave: 'Won’t Get Fooled Again' by The Who. And every Christmas Day, my father and I will inevitably get up and start dancing to it.

When do you open your Christmas presents?

Evanna: I think it’s okay to open one small Christmas present on Christmas Eve.

Perri: Opening your Christmas presents should be the first thing you do in the morning, at about 5am.

Sam: I’m the baby of my family, so I still go into mum and dad’s room at around 9am.

What’s the worst Christmas present you’ve ever given or received?

Ken : The worst gift I’ve ever given or received was only a few years ago, and it was a brush and comb set.

Bush: My nan in Liverpool once went to Birkenhead Market to buy my brother and I a pair of knockoff underpants. Instead of being Calvin Klein underpants, they were Calvin Club.

Richie: The worst Christmas gift I ever received was from an ex’s father who gave me a toilet plunger because he was fed up with me borrowing his.
