Two people who died following a caravan fire at a holiday park in Lincolnshire have been named by police.

48 year old Lee Baker - and his ten year old daughter Esme Baker - had travelled to Ingoldmells from Nottingham.

They were in a caravan which caught fire at Goldenbeach Holiday Park early yesterday morning (Saturday 5th April 2025) - and sadly died at the scene.

In a statement issued though police, a member of the Baker family said:

"Lee and Esme were excited to be spending the first weekend of the holidays together.

"We are all utterly devastated at what's happened. This loss is incomprehensible at the moment, and we ask for people to give us space to process this utterly heartbreaking loss."

The owners of the holiday park where the fire took place say their thoughts are with those affected:

"On behalf of everyone at Golden Beach Holiday Park we would like to send our deepest sympathies and condolences to the families and friends affected by today's tragic events.

"We would like to thank all the emergency services for their help and continued support. We ask for patience and privacy whilst they carry out their investigations,"

The victims' next of kin are being supported by specialist police officers.

Senior investigating officer Detective Inspector Lee Nixon from Lincolnshire Police said: "We believe we might be close to arriving at a working hypothesis.

"We are working hard to validate the facts available to us to be able to provide answers for the family and loved ones of those who were very tragically taken by this fire.

"Yet the evident intensity of the fire has made this task incredibly challenging."

An investigation into the cause of the blaze remains ongoing. Formal identification is expected to take some time to complete.
