Two boys have appeared in court today following the fatal stabbing of Isaac Brown, 15, in West Bromwich on 7 April.
The teenagers - aged 13 and 17 - have pleaded not guilty to murdering the schoolboy in the town centre.
Isaac died after being stabbed in New Square around 9:30pm on Sunday 7 April.
The boys are also accused of robbery, which happened earlier in the day and is being linked to the murder.
After his death, Isaac's family described him as a "wonderful, loving, kind, happy son, brother, grandson, nephew and cousin" who was "fun and mischievous, always smiling and always there to help".
Adjourning the case, Judge Michael Chambers KC told the boys their case would be heard before a High Court judge.
"Your case is being adjourned for trial," the judge said. "We need to finalise when that's going to take place but at the moment it's likely to be in the middle of November or thereabouts."
Both defendants are from the Smethwick area.
The trial is due to take place in November and is expected to last six weeks.
