After the 2020 match took place behind closed doors, a whole host of celebrities and former footballers signed-up to take part in the 2021 edition of Soccer Aid in September 2021, an annual charity football match created to raise money for UNICEF.

Soccer Aid, which was originally set up by Robbie Williams back in 2006, has raised an incredible £40 million over the years, with a number of high profile celebrities and former athletes taking part.

Just like they have done for the last few years, the Rest of the World were once again crowned the 2021 Soccer Aid champions, beating England 3-0.

Former Love Island winner Kem Cetinay scored two goals on the night, with comedian Lee Mack grabbing the third.

Dermot O'Leary was back again to host the show, with former England and Arsenal Ladies footballer Alex Scott joining him.

Speaking about her role on the show, Alex said: “I’m so excited for this! I’ve wanted to be involved in Soccer Aid for UNICEF for many years, so I am delighted to be part of it now as pitch-side reporter.

“For years I’ve watched the games and it’s something that I know loads of people look forward to. It’ll be great to be back in a stadium with fans again – and all for such a great cause. As well as Dermot and Alex hosting the main show, popular presenter Maya Jama was the 2021 pitch side reporter.

Despite also having a soft-spot for her hometown team Newcastle United, Little Mix singer Perrie Edwards showed massive support for Liverpool when her fiancé Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain played for them.
