A man in his 50s has died following a fight in Forest Gate.

Police were called at 3:52pm on 25th November to Palmerston Road after reports of a fight.

Officers, alongside the London Ambulance Service, found Franklin Francis, 56, from Newham, unresponsive.

He was taken to hospital where he died two days later on 27th November.

Mr Francis' family released a statement saying:

“Franklin was a loving member of the family whose kindness and warmth touched everyone who knew him.

"His absence leaves a void that can never be filled. We will miss him dearly every single day.”

Two men, aged 56 and 24, were arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm. They are currently on conditional bail as investigations continue.

“We are deeply saddened by this incident and our thoughts are with Franklin’s family and friends.

“We are doing everything we can to find out who is responsible and have made two arrests as part of our investigation.
