For Manchester's Jewish community, Thursday 2nd October 2025 should have been a solemn day of prayer and fasting to mark Yom Kippur; the holiest day in the religion's calendar.

Instead, what unfolded was a frightening nightmare, when a terrorist targeted the Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation Synagogue in Crumpsall.

Two worshippers were killed and several others injured, in an attack that shook the city and left a lasting scar on a community that had gathered for peace and reflection.

Two months on, our regional correspondent Victoria Glover returns to the synagogue to uncover what really happened inside those walls. Through the voices of survivors, and eyewitnesses, Inside the Synagogue tells the story of that day from the perspective of those who lived it, and explores how faith and resilience endure in the aftermath of violence.
