Four charged in connection with murder of man in Rhydyfelin

Four men have been charged in connection with the death of 22-year-old Liam Woolford in Rhydyfelin.

He died following a reported disturbance on Tuesday (23 September).

Jake Staples, aged 24, of Porth has been charged with murder, attempt murder, wounding with intent, conspiracy to wound another and possession of bladed article.

Ethan Ross, aged 23, of Rhydyfelin has been charged with attempt murder, conspiracy to wound another and possession of bladed article.

Abeyshake Karunanithy, aged 22, of Tonteg has been charged with attempt murder, conspiracy to wound another and possession of bladed article.

Jesse Wandera, aged 30, of Rhydyfelin has been charged with conspiracy to wound another.

All four will appear at Newport Magistrates Court today (27 September).

Detective Superintendent Paul Raikes from South Wales Police said: "Our thoughts are with the family and loved ones of 22-year-old Liam Woolford at this difficult time. I would also like to thank the community of Rhydyfelin for their support during our investigation."
