Important information relating to fake Facebook profiles asking for listeners bank and card details

We would never ask for your card details on Facebook - please read the important information below

Author: Laura Naylor

We are aware a number of fake Facebook profiles that have been appearing recently on our social pages from scammers who are impersonating our presenters and brands. Here at MFR we really value our listeners and wanted to warn you of fraudulent Facebook accounts and what to do if you encounter them or are contacted.

These fraudulent accounts are contacting listeners with claims that they have won a prize. Here at MFR, we would never ask for credit card details in order for a listener to redeem a prize. If you have won a competition with us, we will almost always contact you by phone first.

We are working closely with Facebook to report any scam accounts that appear. If you suspect any fake profiles or you are contacted by an impersonator it's important you do not give away any personal details.

We will never directly message you to ask you to send us your credit card or bank details.

How are MFR working to fight this fraudulent activity?

We are working with Facebook to remove any profiles pretending to be our presenters to ensure that no further listeners are targeted. We would never ask for credit card details in order for a listener to redeem a prize.
