Escaped prisoner Daniel Khalife arrested in Chiswick
A national manhunt had been taking place to try and find the 21 year old after he disappeared from Wandsworth Prison on Wednesday
Detectives who've been searching for terror suspect Daniel Khalife have confirmed they've arrested him in Chiswick, west London.
The 21 year old former soldier was taken into custody at around 11am this morning.
There'd been intense activity in the area overnight, which kept some locals awake.
The Metropolitan Police issued this statement.
The former soldier is believed to have escaped from HMP Wandsworth on Wednesday morning by strapping himself to the bottom of a delivery lorry after leaving the prison kitchen in a cook's uniform.
The ex-soldier is awaiting trial for allegedly planting a fake bomb at an RAF base and gathering information that might be useful to terrorists or enemies of the UK.
He'd been based at army barracks in Stafford before his arrest.
Home Office minister Chris Philp congratulated the police for their "rapid and effective" work to apprehend the terror suspect.
