A 17-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of neglect
A police investigation in to how a baby came to be in water in Boultham Park, Lincoln last night (Thursday, 21 August) is ongoing.
A 15-month-old baby was found by a member of the public this morning.
Police have arrested a 17 year old male in relation to the case.
The force say their focus is currently on the circumstances of how the baby entered the water, which was one of the smaller bodies of water leading from the lake towards the St Catherine’s area of the city.
Lincolnshire police are appealing for anyone who may have been driving or walking along the St Catherine’s Road and Newark Road area between 8.45pm and 9.30pm last night (Thursday 21 August) to check dashcam footage, and see if it has captured anyone walking in that area with a push chair or anyone on a bike.
They are also keen to hear from any dog walkers who may have been in the area at those times, or hear from anyone who may have hard dogs barking.
At this stage, any small piece of information with be incredibly valuable to detectives.
The 15-month-old baby boy was found by a member of the public, who acted swiftly to get emergency services to the scene. The baby boy is being treated in hospital and thankfully has not suffered any serious injuries.
