Gordon Strachan has told new Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers to relish his time at Celtic Park.
The former Liverpool boss was unveiled as the Scottish champions' 18th manager on Monday after agreeing a one-year rolling contract.
Scotland boss Strachan knows what it is like to operate in Glasgow's East End having led the Hoops to three successive titles during his stint in charge between 2005 and 2009.
And he says Rodgers should lap up every minute of his time in Scotland.
Speaking at the draw for the Homeless World Cup, which is being staged in Glasgow in July, Strachan replied when asked what advice he would give the new man: "Enjoy it. It's a fantastic place to work. I think it's going to be a right good season next year and I'm looking forward to it.
"I've not got a time machine but what I am saying is that it is a good appointment. A great appointment."
Rodgers was praised for the stylish brand of football he developed while in charge at Anfield and at former club Swansea.
But Strachan was not interested in dissecting the masterplan Rodgers is likely to employ during his Celtic stint.
"Everybody likes to see attacking football but not everybody can produce it because there are other people trying to stop you," he said. "The only philosophy I've got is that everybody has to be able to control the ball, pass it and hopefully be super fit with imagination. They've also got to be a good team-mate.
"If that's a philosophy, that's mine. As for other people I don't know.
"I don't know what Brendan's philosophy is, you'd have to ask Brendan. I'll just repeat again, that's a great appointment."
