Accies sign D'Acol and close in on a defender

Hamilton have added Brazil-born forward Alex D'Acol to their squad and are close to bringing in their final summer signing.
D'Acol, 29, has arrived from AEK Athens on a year's contract and could make his debut against Ladbrokes Premiership leaders Hearts on Saturday.
Accies could also have another new player in their squad with player-manager Martin Canning looking to add a central defender to cover for his own calf problem and Michael Devlin's ankle injury.
Canning said: "There's one that might happen today, a defender. With Michael Devlin being out, probably until October/November time, and I'm struggling to get myself back fit as well, we have only got Lucas (Tagliapietra) and Jesus (Garcia Tena) fit really now, so hopefully we can get someone to push to get in the team.
"That will be us done. The recruitment has been good this summer. We have had a bit of work to do having lost players during last season and at the end of the season as well.''
D'Acol, who has an Italian passport, has spent most of his career in Greece after leaving Brazil more than 10 years ago.
Canning, whose side lost 2-1 to Raith in the League Cup on Tuesday night, said: "He will hopefully bring goals. He has a good goalscoring record in Greece and he can play as a number nine through the middle.
"He is also quite comfortable playing either side and in the number 10 role as well. He brings versatility and hopefully adds goals and quality to the top end of the pitch.''
