Tributes paid to Forres woman who died after Moray crash

The 24-year-old's car came off the road near Forres early Wednesday morning.

Tributes are being paid this morning to a Forres woman who died after smashing a car into a tree.

The crash happened in the early hours of Wednesday on the road to Califer Hill - 24 year old Alix Smith was pronounced dead just before 2:00am that morning.

On Facebook friends have been sharing her favourite songs, with one saying she's "devastated" by whats happened.

A man and woman in the back seat were badly hurt as well - another passenger escaped with minor injuries.

Road Policing Sergeant Colin Matheson said, "My thoughts and those of my officers and the other emergency services who were in attendance are with all those affected by this terrible tragedy.

"I am extremely interested in speaking to anyone who may have witnessed the collision, or who may have seen the vehicle, a red Vauxhall Corsa, in the area beforehand.

"Similarly, I would urge anyone with information on where the vehicle and its occupants were before the collision to contact us in order to help piece together exactly what has happened."

The road remains closed for collision investigation to be carried out.
