A worker who died on the construction site of a new electricity substation in Moray has been named by police.

John Cameron, 61, died in an incident at Blackhillock, Keith, Moray, at around 8.50am on Friday.

Mr Cameron, from north-east England, was working for BAM Nuttall, which is building new substations in the area with Siemens.

The company said he died ''following injuries sustained in an incident at the Blackhillock substation''.

BAM Nuttal is responsible for construction of the infrastructure at the site.

A Police Scotland spokesman said officers are working with the Health and Safety Executive to determine the circumstances of the death.

Last week, BAM Nuttall chief executive Stephen Fox said: ''Our thoughts and deepest condolences go out to all of the family, friends and colleagues of our employee, who was involved in this tragic incident.

''We are working closely with all relevant agencies and authorities and a full investigation is under way.''
