Woman named following fatal Sutherland road crash

Police have confirmed the Ardgay woman who died following a crash on the A836 between Ardgay and Bonar Bridge.

Rhona Macfarlane was struck by a red Toyota on December 23rd near to the Crom Junction.

The 67-year-old sadly died at the scene as officers closed the road for around seven hours to investigate the crash.

Police are now appealing to anyone with information to come forward.

Constable Robbie Stewart, of North Road Policing, said: "We are continuing to work to establish the full circumstances of this collision. Rhona's family, friends and all involved are at the forefront of our thoughts as these enquiries continue.

"I am grateful to everyone who has assisted with our enquiries so far and would continue to ask anyone with any information to come forward.

“Anyone who may have dashcam footage or was in the area at the time of the collision is urged to contact police.”
