Woman fighting for her life after A9 crash
Another man, 22, was also seriously injured in yesterday's collision involving a car and a lorry in Easter Ross
A collision between a car and a lorry on the A9 has left a woman in a "critical condition" and a man seriously injured.
Emergency services rushed to the scene of the crash at Delny Muir by Invergordon at around 10.30am yesterday.
A 56-year-old woman, who was the passenger in the BMW car involved, is described as being in a "critical condition"
The 22-year-old male driver of the car was also seriously injured, both he and the passenger were taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment.
The driver of the MAN lorry was not injured.
The road was closed for around seven hours while investigations were carried out and fully reopened around 6.30pm.
Road Policing Sergeant Calum MacAulay said: “Enquiries into exactly what happened are ongoing and I’d urge anyone who saw the crash, and hasn’t already spoken to police, to get in touch.
“Motorists with dashcam footage of the area at the time, please review this. I’m particularly keen to trace any footage of the black BMW 318 or the silver MAN HGV before the crash. If you’ve captured this, please bring it to our attention.”
